White Arkitekter has won a competition for a housing project in Stockholm Royal Seaport together with Midroc. Three buildings will give a common identity to the block thanks to their brick facades and masonry arches that frame the street level. The visitors included researchers, officials, journalists, politicians and students.

The Stockholm Royal Seaport (SRS) project is transforming the old industrial port area into a modern city environment for both residents and businesses, setting the standard for creating a fossil-fuel free Stockholm. Stockholm Royal Seaport is one of the largest urban development areas in Europe, with at least 12,000 new homes and 35,000 workplaces. The Development administration from the City of Stockholm started planning in the early 2000s. The new city district will be fully developed around 2030 and 2500 households have already moved in.

Here we present several innovation projects that trigger curiosity and interest. Stockholm Royal Seaport to the Citybanan train line. Many residents and workers use the pedestrian and cycle lanes that connect Stockholm Royal Seaport with Lidingö in the east, the city centre, and the large green areas of Norra Djurgården.

The sustainability programme for Stockholm Royal Seaport Stockholm Royal Seaport’s Construction Consolidation Centre, (CCC), was established in 2013. As all developers and contractors are obliged to join the CCC, logistics flows can be co-ordinated, and services offered to reduce construction site traffic in the immediate area. CCC controls site traffic in and out of the construction area. White Arkitekter has won a competition for a housing project in Stockholm Royal Seaport together with Midroc.
